It gets busy around Fort Lauderdale; lots of targets on AIS.
Every boater needs a helicopter on the stern!
Looking south to 17th Street Bridge, cruise ships in background, megayachts in foreground.
Bahia Mar is a larger marina. This photo is only a part of the north side! There is an equally large south side.
Kathleen & Ernie joined us for a few days! Great company!
Sheraton Yankee Clipper hotel looks like a ship (a clipper ship?).
Fort Lauderdale Beach
One September is 50 feet, but it looks awfully small next to the megayacht!
This is only one of the pools!
Colorful!
It is Spring Break, and the city of Fort Lauderdale is quite busy! We went to the beach and read and it was quiet at first. Later in the morning when the college kids woke up and came out, the beach was packed! It was also a little crowded and noisy on the streets around dinner time!
Downtown Fort Lauderdale in the background. By the way, Major William Lauderdale was from the Tennessee Volunteers, and distinguished himself in the Seminole wars....

Fort Lauderdale to Lighthouse Point
We left the hustle bustle of Fort Lauderdale (due to Spring Breakers) and headed north on the ICW. Below are photos for what this area is famous, the canals and large homes.
Then we turned to port on the Grand Canal into Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club. Old Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club friends Jeanne & Skip on “Time” are here. Lighthouse Point reminds us a little of the Cavalier.

(This is one home, not two!)
(One home here, too!)
